Introduction to Japan JATE certification
The Ministry of Management and Internal Affairs, Postal and Telecommunications (MPHPT) stipulates that Japan Telecommunications Commercial Law implements mandatory certification of Japan's telecommunications equipment. The Telecommunications and Communications Commercial Statutory was established in 1984 and stipulates in Article 68 that MPHPT authorizes qualified agencies to implement technical approvals. JATE certification is commonly known as the Japanese Telecommunications Law. For mobile phone products, it is generally necessary to comply with the Japanese Telecommunications Law (commonly known as JATE certification) and Radio Wave Law (commonly known as TELEC certification) testing requirements before they can be legally listed.
