Introduction to Thailand NTC certification
The National Telecommunication Commission of Thailand has set clear specifications and restrictions on telecommunications equipment, telecommunications terminal equipment and wireless products. From July 1, 2008, the existing mandatory regulations for mobile phone communication products will be expanded to wireless-related products for telecommunications equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment.
NTC authentication mode
Certification requires the following three modes to be certified. The classification of the product must be determined before the applicable certification model is determined:
Class A Approval
Class A products must be tested in a laboratory designated by NTC and provided with NTC required data.
Class B Approval
The certification procedure is the same as Class A product category. It can only be used to apply for certification in the transfer mode using foreign reports such as FCC, CE, CB..., and you must also obtain the login number and certification certificate.
SDoC Declaration of Conformity ( SDoC))
This product certification is a voluntary model, and the SDoC form must be filled out by the customer's local representative in Thailand and sent to the NTC for reference.
To apply for certification, a local representative must have a supplier code (Suppliers Code) and apply in Thai.
Basically, the certification time is 4 to 5 weeks. Sample requirements are required in Class A, and must be provided when there are sometimes compliance review requirements in Class B, and SDoC mode does not require it.
Among them , products for WiFi (such as 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g) are classified as SDoC. Although NTC announced in 2003 that the output power of 2.4GHz products is less than 100mW, it can be exempted from type recognition. However, this regulation will be changed after July 2008. WiFi products can only be imported to Thailand after confirming that their products meet the NTC technical requirements. The manufacturer must inspect and attach a declaration letter and relevant compliance documents when customs clearance.
