Certification introduction
PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan to prove that motor and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of the Japanese Electrical and Raw Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or the international IEC standard. Japan's DENTORL law (Electrical Devices and Materials Control Law) stipulates that 506 products must pass safety certification when entering the Japanese market. Among them, 165 Class A products should obtain diamond-shaped PSE logos, and 341 Class B products should obtain circular PSE logos.
Since April 1, 2001, the "Electric Product Control Law (DENTORL)" has been officially renamed to the "Electric Product Safety Law (DENAN). Unlike the previous legal system's agreement-based controls, the new system will be guaranteed by unofficial institutions.
Basic information about PSE certification
Is it mandatory: mandatory
Certificate validity period: for diamond, 3-7 years, based on product. For round shapes, no validity period or certificate, only VOC
factory inspection requirements can be issued: for diamond shapes, only the first factory inspection is required, no annual review is required. For round shape, no factory inspection requirements
Certified holder requirements: for diamonds, factory/importer. For circles, no requirements

Certification classification
According to Japan's "Electric Product Safety Law", PSE certification is divided into two categories.
PSE diamond certification: Among them, there are 165 products that are prone to electric shock, fire and other accidents, and are classified as "specific electrical products - called Class A electrical products", such as chargers, adapters, etc.;
PSE circular certification: The remaining 341 products with less harm are classified as "non-specific electrical products - called Class B electrical products", and most of them are large and small home appliances, lamp products, lithium batteries, etc.
Applicable product scope
Rhombus PSE
Wires, wiring equipment, current limiters, transformers, stabilizers, electric heating equipment, electrical application machinery and equipment, electrical electrical machinery and equipment for AC, carry generators, other AC machinery and equipment, wire pipes, small AC motors, light sources and light source machinery and equipment, batteries, etc. Among them, they belong to the product scope stipulated in the specific Electrical Products Safety Law, such as: DC power supply devices, switches and sockets, electric water heaters, power cords and plugs, and other household appliance transformers (AC-AC power supply products).
Circular PSE
It belongs to the product range outside the specific electrical product safety law, such as: electric blankets, electric steamer, electric perm, electric oven, microwave oven, hair humidifier, refrigerator, electric mixer, electric egg boiler, electric insulation basin, hair dryer, electric humidifier, projector, washing machine, white hot light bulb, fluorescent lamp, desk lamp, decorative lamp, advertising lamp, lithium battery, and all LED bulbs and LED lamps.
Application process
2. The testing agency laboratory for testing. If it is a PSE circular, a declaration letter will be issued by the inspection inspection.
3. For the PSE diamond, the factory inspection also needs to be inspected.
4. After the test and factory inspection pass, the issuing agency will issue a PSE diamond certificate.

Certification cycle
It varies according to the application standards and certification body, usually 4-6 weeks in the case of CB and about 6-10 weeks in the case of CB. (If the data is complete and the sample does not require rectification)
Certificate validity period
Diamond PSE Certificate: 3 years, 5 years, 7 years (detection of the product for details)
Circular PSE Certificate: Usually, the factory self-declaration or the test report is issued by a third-party laboratory/certification agency.
