Certification introduction
The country promotes ROHS certification to control and reduce the pollution caused to the environment by electronic information products after being abandoned. The purpose of the country's ROHS certification is to reduce or eliminate 6 substances in electronic information products: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated biphenyl ethers. The national RoHS certification system adopts the principles of a unified product catalog, unified certification technical specifications, certification rules, conformity assessment procedures, and unified markings.
In 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other nine ministries and commissions compiled the "Catalogue of Management for the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances for Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)" and the "Catalogue of Application Exceptions for Restricted Substances for Standards for the Compliance Management Catalog", requiring that for products included in the catalog, the content of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers should comply with the relevant standards for the restricted use of hazardous substances for electrical and electronic products, and be included in the management scope of the management system for the display of hazardous substances for electrical and electronic products.
The National ROHS will be enforced on November 1, 2019. All products in the "Catalogue of Management for the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)" should meet the requirements of the National ROHS regulations.
Laboratory institutions that promote ROHS certification in China
Only laboratories that are authorized and allowed by the Certification and Supervision Commission to carry out RoHS certification and inspection work in the country can undertake the inspection work. Beicai Group has obtained the contracted laboratories of relevant national issuing institutions and the first batch of mandatory national ROHS sampling units.
What are the benefits of enterprises promoting ROHS certification in China
Reductions and exemptions from enterprises in the collection of waste electrical and electronic product treatment funds;
Priority will be given to government procurement plans;
Enhance the competitiveness of products in the market.
Authentication mode
China promotes ROHS certification model
Model 1: Type test + post-certification supervision [Applicable components and components products, materials products]
Model 2: Sampling test + post-certification supervision [Applicable components and components products]
Model 3: Optimization test + post-certification supervision [Applicable to whole machine products and component products]
Model 4: Sampling test + initial factory inspection + post-certification supervision [all products within the scope of applicable rules]
Applicable product scope
The first batch of ROHS (Category 12) compulsory products are promoted by the state: refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, electric water heaters, printers, copiers, fax machines, TVs, monitors (including monitors, display screens, etc.), microcomputers (including desktop computers, notebooks, tablets and other PCs), mobile communications handhelds, and telephone stand-alone phones.
The national-promoted ROHS certificate covering 12 categories of products is valid for 5 years and needs to undergo regular supervision and random inspections every year.
